How to Find Copyright Free Images on Google?

There is a famous saying “A picture is worth thousand words”. Truly, a picture sometimes says more than words. On the other hand, addition of pictures make a blog or website beautiful and more interesting. If you are a publisher and building a website, you should wisely use images on it to make it more interesting. Now the question is from where we can get these pictures. Our normal habit is to go to a search engine and search the images we want and use them wherever we want. But we should be aware of the fact that all the images available on Google are not copyright free and therefore you cannot use any picture anywhere you want. If you do that and the image owner who has the rights finds it, he may take actions against you.

But, you need pictures to use them on your blog or website. So, how to search only those pictures which are not copyrighted and can be used freely. So following are the steps how to find copyright free images on Google to use them on your website. Let us take an example, I want to search a good picture of the Mount Everest. So I will go to Google.com and search it like as in the following image:

Enter “Mount Everest” in the Google search box, and hit “Enter”. Google shows you all the relevant results and the default tab selected is “Web” as you can see in this picture. Click on “Images” to see the images only. Click the “Options” at the top right of the page and click “Advanced Search”. You can define your requirements more specifically in the advanced search option. When you click on the advanced search option, Google will show you the following options:

Here, you can choose what you want to search. As you can see in the picture, I typed “Mount Everest” in the first box. If you want to find some exact phrase put that in “ ”, in the second box. Another option is using “OR” between the words if you want to find all the words. Put it like that in the third box. And if you want to exclude a particular word from a phrase, put a “-“ sign before that word.

Now, I was searching for images, so I move on the next options and I do not select anything particular in this case, since I want a copyright free image of the Mount Everest. So I directly go to the last option, which is about the “Usage Rights”. Clicking this option shows the following:

So, these are the options where you have to choose. I did not want to make modifications in the downloaded pictures, so I chose the option, “free to use or share, even commercially”. Choose an option here and click “Advanced Search” Button. Now google will show you the images, which are free to use and share. You may not find as many pictures by selecting these options as you can while doing the simple search, but you will find the copyright free images here and that is the purpose.
I have used some of the images downloaded by this method on this blog as featured images.

Conclusion:

Pictures increase the beauty of your online content and make it more interesting but we cannot use copyrighted pictures, so we can filter the search results to find to “free to use” pictures on Google.

What is Domain Parking?

What is a Domain Name?

A domain name is the address of your website. When someone types your domain name in a browser and hits enter, it points to your website and takes the user to the website. Your domain name describes your website, your business or your brand name.

What is Domain Parking?

When we are not using our car, we park it in the parking space. That’s easy to understand. It is also easy to understand what domain parking means. No, it is not related with the car parking. Let me explain, what it is.

When you buy a domain name from a domain registrar, you may be in two situations –

One - you have a website or blog on a free hosting service, and want to buy your own domain name and want to link your existing site or blog with your custom domain name. In this case, you do the settings to make your domain name point to your website or blog.

Two – you are planning to build a website, but don’t have any content published anywhere as of now. But you go for registering a domain name first. So when you register a domain name, and you don’t have any site or blog it can point to, then if you try opening your domain name in the web browser, where it will take you. To sort out this problem, the domain name registrars make a temporary arrangement and they create a dummy page for your domain name. So, basically your domain name is not being properly used as of now, but it is parked on a dummy page. That’s called domain parking.

Conclusion:

When we buy a domain name, but don’t have any online content it can point to, the registrar points it to a dummy page, which is called domain parking.

By registering a domain name means registering it with ICANN, (The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) a not-for-profit public-benefit organization, which is responsible for internet naming system. You register your domain name with ICANN through a domain name registrar.Just have a thought in your mind what type of website you are going to build, is it a personal blog, is it a business website, accordingly think what can be the best domain name for it, which describes what you have on the website. • Try to keep it simple if possible, avoid using (-) or very long names, because these types of domain names are not easy to remember.
• If you are building a business website, you domain name is going to be your brand name. so choose it wisely.
• There are so many domain registrars available, do an online search, compare their rates and decide, which is best for you.
• There are various types of domain names available like .com, .net, .org, .mobi, .pro, .museums, .website etc. Try taking a .com domain name, which is most popular and easy to remember.

• Contact a domain name registrar, search for the domain name on its websites, look for the best suggested names, and finalize which matches with your requirements.
• Go for a longer duration package if it is available at a discounted price.

How to Create & Use Broadcast Lists in WhatsApp

Remember when we were using SMS for communication?

We used to send group messages by creating group of contacts in the mobile phone. Now, there are so many messengers we are using for texting, (WhatsApp being the most used among them), we can send messages to a group of people in the same way. This option is called Broadcast List in WhatsApp. We can create a list of many contacts to whom we want to send messages. And then, instead of sending messages to each contact separately, we can send the messages to the Broadcast List.

Steps to Create a Broadcast List in WhatsApp:

Open WhatsApp, Click on the three dots in the top right, Click on New Broadcast.
Choose the contacts you want to add to your broadcast list.
Give a name to your Broadcast List, and start sending messages.
Yes! It’s easy.

The important thing to remember while creating Broadcast Lists is to choose the participants of Broadcast List carefully, so that no inappropriate message is sent to any contact by mistake.

How Broadcast Lists are different from WhatsApp Groups?

Now, we also have the function of creating Groups in WhatsApp. Then, how the Broadcast Lists are different from the WhatsApp Groups? When in a group, all the participants know, who other people are in the same group and everyone in the group can interact with each other, however, in case of Broadcast lists, the members of the Broadcast List don’t know who and how many other people are in the List and they cannot interact with each other. A Group Participant can leave a group, but in case of broadcast lists, the option of not receiving the messages is to Block That WhatsApp Contact. If Admin rights are given to more than one participant in a WhatsApp Group, the Admin/s can add/delete new participants, but in case of Broadcast Lists, only the creator of the Broadcast List can add/delete the list members.

What are the limitations in creating Broadcast Lists?

You can add maximum 256 members to a single broadcast list.
You can send messages to maximum 1200 members at one instance, therefore you can send messages to maximum 5 broadcast lists (1200/256 = 4.6) in one go and then you have to wait for 11 minutes to send another broadcast.
you can send a broadcast to someone only if he/she has you in his/her contact list.

How to Use WhatsApp to Keep your Personal Stuff at One Place

WhatsApp has become a very useful messaging and calling app these days. It was a messaging app when launched and have updated itself with new features like audio and video calling as well. Now, there is one more interesting usage of WhatsApp, which we will discuss in this article.

You can use WhatsApp as a store of your all important stuff at one place. You don’t need any new feature or update of WhatsApp for doing this. You can create a new WhatsApp Group just for yourself and post all your important stuff to this group and access it whenever required. So how can we create a group having only one person? We will learn that in the following steps.

First you have to create a new group in WhatsApp. You will need one more person for that. So go to WhatsApp, go to create a new group and add any one of your friends to that group. Give a name to your group and add one of your friends. Now, you can see in the screenshot that this group has two participants.

You and the person you have added.

Now remove the person you added to this group and the group will still work.

Now the group will show only one participant, which is you.

So, whenever you receive any message which you like very much, just forward that to your this group. It will be stored like in any other groups and you can visit your this group whenever you want to read your favorite messages.

Other than messages, you can post everything you like to this group like any screenshots, images, audio, video, pdf and whatever WhatsApp supports.

And the best thing is that only you can access and see your favorite data.

So, keep learning.
